When I played in the NFL, I thought success was about talent and toughness. I pushed harder. I grinded longer. I ignored every warning sign my body, my mind, and my relationships were sending me.
Then everything caught up.
It wasn't a lack of talent that nearly broke me. It wasn't a lack of desire. It was a lack of capacity — the internal infrastructure to sustain what I was building externally.
That season of my life forced me to rebuild from the foundation up. Not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, relationally, and as a leader. And when I did, something remarkable happened: everything expanded.
My influence grew. My relationships deepened. My impact multiplied. And I realized this wasn't just my story — it was the story of every leader, athlete, and high performer I'd ever met.
